Die Englische Kirche entstand auf Wunsch der zahlreichen britischen Kurgäste und ist heute eine bedeutende Kultureinrichtung. Christian Holler erbaute die Kirche ab 1861, die Einweihung, am 2. September 1868, nahm Lord-Bischof von London vor. Nach 1914 diente das Gebäude u.a. als Heimatmuseum und städtischer Konzertsaal. Anfang der 90ger Jahre erfuhr die Englische Kirche eine Sanierung. Heute ist sie auch Kulturzentrum am Ferdinandsplatz und zieht jährlich viele Besucher an. Konzerte, Lesungen, Ausstellungen und vieles mehr erleben in der sakralen Atmosphäre eine besondere Atmosphäre.
