Die Waldenser-Kirche im Bad Homburger Ortsteil Dornholzhausen wurde 1701/02 zunächst als kleine Holzkirche errichtet und 1724 durch die heute bekannte Waldenserkirche ersetzt. Landgraf Friedrich II. von Hessen-Homburg war zwar ein absolutistischer Herrscher, aber in religiösen Fragen tolerant. So gewährte er den französischen Glaubensflüchtlingen Asyl. Unter anderem gab er im Sommer 1699 40 Waldenser-Familien 200 Morgen Land in Dornholzhausen, dem heutigen Stadtteil Bad Homburgs. Im Äußeren als auch im Inneren erfuhr das Gotteshaus zahlreiche Umbauten. Heute erinnern noch die sechs farbingen Kirchenfenster an die Geschichte der Waldenser.
