Aus Anlass des 40-jährigen Bestehens des Bundes der Vertriebenen (BdV) in Bad Homburg wurde am 15. April 1989 im Jubiläumspark eine von dem Künstler Ernst Steinacker geschaffene Gedenksäule enthüllt. Die 2,70 m hohe Bronzesäule als Monument der Erinnerung und Versöhnung schildert Szenen aus den Jahren nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg: Die Vertreibung der deutschen Bevölkerung aus den ehemaligen Ostgebieten und die Eingliederung der Flüchtlinge in die neue Heimat.
